There are so many problems before free India. Dowry is also one of them.
Gifts given to newly married girl at the time of his marriage by her parents are known as dowry. It is given as a token of love to make a new carrier. It has become a curse to the society as there are so many cases of murder of newly married girls.
If the greed of father in law is not satisfied newly married girl is tortured. she is teased when she feels her life unbearable, she is forced to commit to suicide.
The government is also playing role to abolish this system. Anti-Dowry bill has been passed in the parliament. Demanding dowry has been declared illegal by the government. In spite of all the efforts of the government the problem continues.
It we want to progress of the country this problem will have to be solved.
Without active support of the youth this problem cannot be uprooted. According to the modern thinkers. If we want to abolish the problem. We have to break the bond of the caste. Girls have to dare to remain unmarried for a long time till their parents will not able to find suitable match.
